I have the honour to forward herewith copy of a statement made by the owners of the steam launch Tung Kong belonging to the Kwong Wan Steam Boat Co. regarding a piracy committed on the launch on the 31st ultimo at Kong Mun. It is believed that the pirates came from the villages of Ko Chun 新會 and Hoi Chau which are on the borders of the San Tak and Shun Tak Districts.
I shall be obliged if you will bring these matters to the notice of the Chinese Authorities and ask them to institute strict enquiries into the matter.
If any arrests are made in connection with this piracy I shall endeavour to send witnesses to appear before the Chinese Court.
